Moscow Mayor, Abkhazia President Sign Agreement on Cooperation

SUKHUM - An agreement between the government of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Moscow government on cooperation in the trade, economic, scientific, technical, humanitarian and culture areas was signed in Sukhum on Friday.
Abkhazian President Sergei Bagapsh and Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov affixed their signatures to the document.
According to the agreement, the parties will promote developing trade and economic cooperation, ensure conditions for joint entrepreneurship, production and other business activities, facilitate creation of joint companies, organise fairs, auctions, business meetings and open commerce, business, culture and information centers.
Moscow and Abkhazia have agreed to prepare and carry out joint construction and investment projects and ensure favourable conditions for mutual investments.
The parties will exchange experience to develop and support entrepreneurship and private initiative and experience in the areas of construction, new construction technologies, minerals extraction, industrial integration, housing and in the fuel and energy area.
In the science and education sphere, aside from cooperation to use modern technologies and carry out programmes and projects, the parties have agreed on training of scientific personnel and exchanging of specialists, scientific and technical information, documentation and literature.
The parties intend to develop ties between health organisations and create conditions for development and consolidation of cooperation in the sphere of physical culture and sport.
Moscow and Sukhum will assist to establish business ties between tourism organisations.
Other agreements may be concluded to specify forms, volumes and conditions of cooperation to implement the signed agreement.
