Foreign Trade
The Republic of Abkhazia has been actively working to expand its foreign trade. In 2006, Abkhazia's two-way trade totaled $153.3 million, up 1.5 times over the previous year. In the first six months of 2007, trade totaled $135.9 million, according to the latest government figures.
In 2006, Abkhazia imported goods valued at $125.7 million, an increase of 1.3 times over the previous year. Food products accounted for 25% of the imports, followed by other consumer goods, fuel and other materials. The leading exports are citrus and wood products.
Abkhazia's largest trading partners are Russia and Turkey.
