Our Geography
The Republic of Abkhazia is located in the Caucasus Mountains on the eastern coast of the Black Sea. As a result, the nation has very attractive beach and mountain areas, with virgin forests and abundant fresh water resources. Abkhazia is a net exporter of water. The climate is sub-tropical. Among the natural and historical attractions of Abkhazia are Lake Ritsa, New Athon, Pitsunda Cathederal, Sukhum, Gegsky waterfall, and the Mokva and Ilor Churches.
