Our Religions
About 75% of Abkhazians are Orthodox Christians. Although it is a canonical territory of the Georgian Orthodox Church, the Orthodox Church in Abkhazia is administered by the Eparchy of Abkhazia under Russian Orthodox influence. About 10% of Abkhazians are Sunni Muslims, and there are sizable communities of Jews, Lutherans, Catholics and followers of other faiths.
